ALLEGORY is a modern take on feminine dressing; built for the confident city woman who is fashion-forward while steadfastly environmentally-minded. Solid black dead stock fabrications have been sourced from all over Asia to create everyday pieces that are easy to style and care for.

1. Mission

ALLEGORY is not rushing to replace your existing wardrobe with trend-driven styles. Instead, we are committed to four drops annually, with three to eight styles per drop. These are meant to be foundation pieces that play a supporting role to your star investment items; pieces that will last the test of fashion-cycles and laundering.

2. Sustainable materials

Dead stock - already existing excess material left over by suppliers who have over - estimated their needs.
The least harmful to the environment - priority is given to natural fibres and organically-grown options.
Local - domestic finds mean they keep the carbon footprint as low as they can with transportationand also ships a reusable laundry bag with your purchase so you can give the best care to your pieces.
The company has also eliminated the need for spare buttons by heat-sealing your original one - better quality means less waste

3. Ethical standards

The factories undergo WCA/SEDEX/BSCI audits annually.

BSCI = Business Social Compliance Index

4. Location & logistics

The designs are "dead stock forward" - the creative process starts with fabric selection, then styles are fashioned into each individual roll. Everything is sourced in Asia, then produced in China.

5. Responsible packaging

ALLEGORY asks its factories to bulk-pack by size instead of individually poly-bagging each item. Research is also being carried out on water-soluble options.
The hangtags and thank you notes are printed on recycled pulp. They use compostable mailers by Noissue, which is Eco Packaging Alliance.

6. Improvement goals

When ALLEGORY grows large enough to have to produce its own fabrications, therefore, they are committed to using natural fibres only - not creating anything with fossil-fuel-based components.
They also want to improve how they communicate the size specifications through diversity in model selection and clarity of charting to improve purchase accuracy and, hence, reduce return rates.
