MACAPUNO ™ is an eco-friendly initiative with a focus on reducing plastic waste, cleaning up our oceans & protecting our vulnerable environment. Designed for Comfort, their range of bespoke swimwear is ethically handcrafted from recycled ocean bound plastic.
1. Mission
The company believes in being open and honest about the life cycle of your Macapuno Swimwear, its production practices, pricing policies, contributions to partnering organizations and social initiatives.
2. Sustainable materials
1.Vita by Carvico,made from ECONYL® regenerated Nylon.This premium Italian fabric offers UV protection, excellent coverage and shape retention is suncream and tanning oil resistant and is impervious to saltwater, chlorine, piling and colour loss. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and Global Recycled Standard certified.
2. Renew Folk by Jersey Lomellinaof Italy. Made from ECONYL® regenerated Nylon this fabric is super soft with an elegant ribbed structure.OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and Global Recycled Standard certified.
3. Renew Wave by Jersey Lomellinaof Italy. Made from ECONYL® regenerated Nylon this special fabric has a three-dimensional honeycomb texture. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and Global Recycled Standard certified.
4. Vibrant motifs are digitally printed on American REPREVE® using eco-certified dyes. OEKO-TEX®, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Global Recycled Standard approved and committed to Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals.
5. Hardware is produced from a high-grade Zinc Alloy that will not tarnish, rust or pit.
3. Ethical standards
Employees receive a fair wage, well above the minimum, as well as an annual bonus. Overtime is optional and paid between 1.5 and 3 times the hourly rate. In addition, they receive a healthy, hot meal for lunch and facilities are fully air-conditioned. Every employee receives free medical insurance, including their families.

We said NO to photoshop. Minimal retouching has been made to our product photos. Rest assured that what you see is what you'll get.
The production of the bathing suits supports Bali Streets Mums - a female-led charity assisting in rehabilitating street children and their mums.
The company contributes 10%of the Retail Price of a new cozzie to either the Reef Restoration Foundation in Australia or the Elephants & Bees Project in Kenya.
4. Location & logistics
Your new bikini is designed in Hong Kong and ethically handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia.
Why Bali? With over 30 years of experience, their supplier has the skills and capacity to manufacture high-quality garments. In addition, using their one-of-a-kind import and export license, taxes and production costs can be reduced, making your swimwear more affordable.
5. Responsible packaging
The company ship plastic free! Your swimsuit arrives in a FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified cardboard box that can be reused or recycled. Cardboard, however, is naturally biodegradable and compostable.
The hangtags and hygiene liners are made from recycled paper. Swimwear arrives in organic cassava starch bags, which are both biodegradable and compostable.They will start to decompose within 24 hours even when discarded in landfill.
6. Improvement goals
